    The Cowboy State Games will be conducting a separate weight lifted to body weight ratio competition.  We will use the following formula: If a 150-pound athlete has a combined total weight on 3 lifts of 600 lbs, the formula is 600/150 = 4 ratio.  If a 200-pound athlete lifts combined weight of 750 lbs, the formula is 750/200 = 3.75 ratio.  The 150 lb athlete is stronger per body weight and will place higher.

    Divisions
    Youth 1:  Age 9 – 12
    Youth 2: Age 13 – 17
    Junior: Age 18 – 20
    Open: Age 21 – 34
    Masters: Age 35 – 44
    Masters: Age 45 – 54
    Masters: Age 55+

    All ages as of December 31, 2018

    Events

    Lifting Events:
    Bench Press
    Squat
    Dead Lift

    This is a culminating weight bench press, squat and dead lift competition with three lifts. Total of all three successful lifts will determine place.

    Example:
    Bench Press
    First Lift: 225 lbs.
    Second Lift: 245 lbs.
    Third Lift: 275 lbs.
    Cumulative: 745 lbs.

    Fitness Events:
    1. # of Burpees in 2 mins
    2. Strict Pull ups. (how many you can get before you can’t anymore or lose form)
    3. One mile run.  Run is on treadmill.  Athlete will stop the treadmill at the one-mile mark.  Judges will record time and distance.
